Aircraft. Italian strike: reduced to four hours today
Protests of the handling sector, airline related industries and easyJet flight attendants
The Italian strike in the air transport sector scheduled for today 29 September has been reduced to four hours. The workers in the airport services sector will be the ones to fold their arms for ground assistance to planes and passengers during stops at the airports. The protest, initially lasting 24 hours, was scaled down after the precept exercised by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT): employees stopped from 1pm to 5pm.
The national secretariats of Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Ugl Trasporto Aereo proclaimed the abstention from work. The objective is to support the union dispute for the renewal of the employment contract which expired in 2017. Arms crossed for handling workers (loading and unloading baggage, check-in staff, aircraft service). The flight attendants of the easyJet airline belonging to the acronyms Fit-Cisl, Usb, Filt-Cgil and Uil Trasporti were also stopped for four hours, again from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
