Heathrow Airport: passenger boom in August
Performance marks a growth of +25.1% compared to the same period of 2022

The management company Heathrow Airport Limited, which controls the London airport, recently communicated the data regarding the volume of passengers transiting in the month of August 2023: travellers welcomed in the British airport were 7.554 million. A performance that marks a growth of +25.1% compared to the same period last year.
According to the report, 52.289 million passengers have already passed through in the first eight months of the year (+36.1% compared to 2023). Extending the time horizon to the period September 2022-August 2023, the airport hosted a total of 75,465 million travellers (+50.3% on an annual basis). Looking at the cargo traffic: in August there were 120,488 tonnes transported by air (+12.7% compared to the same month of 2022), while in the first eight months the volume fell by -3.2%.
