UK: agreement on Puma helicopters
Extended maintenance contract until 2028
The Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom, led by Ben Wallace, has formalized the extension of a contract with the company Airbus Helicopters, to provide logistical support and assistance on the Puma Mk2 helicopters of the Royal Air Force (RAF). The agreement provides for an extension for a maximum period of three years (from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2028) for a value of 320 million pounds.
"The reason for the award of the tender, with the consequent extension of the contract with Airbus Helicopters UK, was because the contractor is the design organization of the Puma platform, which holds exclusive rights from a technical point of view", said the ministry. Also because, the European manufacturer specified that "no license to support the Puma Mk2 will be granted outside the Airbus Helicopters company".
