G20: safety tests with helicopters
Soldier lowers himself from an aircraft onto the roof of a hotel during exercises - VIDEO
Training has begun to ensure security in view of the G20 summit scheduled for 9 to 10 September in India. The armed forces conducted various ground and air exercises in the capital New Delhi. Citizens all looked up yesterday afternoon to see a soldier lowering himself from a military helicopter onto the roof of the "Le Meridien" hotel, one of the four structures that will host political leaders during the two days.
"Numerous heads of state are arriving and international organizations are also joining. That's why we have created a 'restricted zone' in the New Delhi district. All businesses in this area will be closed for three days (from 8th to 10th September). We advise people to travel by metro", a police official announced.
Below, the video. The images show a military helicopter flying over a hotel as part of security exercises. A person is seen lowering onto the roof, then the aircraft takes off. The video was filmed by a citizen who then posted it on social networks. Meanwhile, the forces on the ground were training to oppose possible armed attacks.
