First commercial flight from North Korea
Tu-204 aircraft carrying 210 passengers on the Pyongyang-Beijing route
First commercial flight departing from North Korea in more than three years. The flight was performed today by the North Korean national carrier Air Koryo. The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced yesterday that China approved the resumption of flights by passenger aircraft on the Pyongyang-Beijing-Pyongyang route, operated by the North Korean airline. The service had been suspended in 2020 due to the closure of the borders due to the pandemic.
According to international media reports, which cite data from the specialized information portal "Flightradar24", the connection was operated by a Tupolev Tu-204 aircraft with 210 passengers on board. The airplane took off this morning from the North Korean airport in the capital Pyongyang and landed at that Chinese of Beijing (flight JS151).
