The South Korean aircraft manufacturer Korea Aerospace Industries (Kai), a company operating in the aerospace sector, has launched an ambitious program for the development of technologies for drones (Mum-T, Manned - Unmanned Teaming) and weapons management (Ale, Air Launched Effects), for military helicopters. In detail, the aim is to develop sensors, command and control capabilities, tactical communications, interdomain teaming.

The technological development program is part of a broader focus of the state company which aims to respond to the request for new multi-domain capabilities by the armed forces of the Republic of Korea: in detail, the focus is on artificial intelligence to allow a effective interoperability between unmanned aircraft and manned air, land and sea assets.

The Mum-T technology development program involves NI-600VT Night Intruder helicopter-drones and NI-500VT tiltrotors (helicopter-plane) designed by manufacturer Kai. These are aircraft designed for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations, capable of transferring information (captured by electro-optical and infrared units) to ground control stations and to the Kai-Lah combat helicopter.
