Electronic warfare systems for CH‑53 will be provided
The Israeli company Elbit Systems, specialized in defense technologies, will equip the Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion GS/GE military transport helicopters of the German Air Force with self-protection systems called "Airborne Electronic Warfare". The goal of the Berlin Ministry of Defense is to improve the operational effectiveness of fleets and performance during operations.
"We appreciate the confidence the German Air Force places in our technologies that they will continue to provide greater survivability and to increase mission effectiveness", said Oren Sabag, General Manager of the Israeli technology firm's Electronic Warfare division.
The Tel Aviv company has in fact been awarded a collaboration contract with Airbus Helicopters for the supply of electronic warfare systems. The contract includes the supply of digital radar warning receivers (RWR, Radar warning receiver), electronic warfare systems (EW, Electronic Warfare) and counter-offensive devices (CMDS, Countermeasure Dispensing Systems).
