Aircraft. Air strike on June 4 in Italy

A 24-hour mobilization of the airport sector

Sunday 4 June 2023 will be a 24-hour strike in the airport sector in Italy. Numerous inconveniences are expected for passengers travelling to or from Italy, dealing with delayed and cancelled flights, which will cause long queues at the check-in desks and at baggage claim. The protection range is guaranteed on flights departing between 7:00 and 10:00am and between 6:00pm and 9:00pm.

Their arms are crossed by the personnel in charge of managing the handling service at airports throughout the country. The cause of the mobilization is "the particular situation faced by the 11,000 workers in the sector, with insufficient wages and scarce protections", explain the unions Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti and Ugl Trasporto Aereo.

Meanwhile, the air traffic controllers employed by the Italian company for flight assistance (Enav) in Rome and Milan have also announced a strike from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Sunday's nationwide protest was originally scheduled for May 19, but had been postponed after the floods in Emilia Romagna.
