Surprises in the world ranking of the busiest airports in April 2023. American international stopovers are absent from the top 10, while Asian and European hubs dominate the list, which divide the ranks exactly in half: five airports located in the old continent and another five in the East. On the side of the airports that offered more seats, however, the American Hartsfield-Jackson of Atlanta has no rivals (4,962,06 seats).

The ranking is led by Dubai International Airport (it was in second place in April 2019), in the United Arab Emirates, which handled 4,484,082 paying passengers last month. In second place is London-Heathrow airport (in April 2019 it led the list) with 3,835,054 travellers. Amsterdam-Schiphol is on the third step of the podium (in the same month of 2019 he was sixth) with 3,066,752 transits.

In fourth place is Paris-"Charles de Gaulle" airport (2,957,595 passengers), followed by Istanbul (2,906,081), Singapore-Changi (2,862,096) and Frankfurt (2,724,265). The ranking of the busiest airports is closed by the Korean Seoul-Incheon airport (2,526,098), the Qatari Hamad of Doha (2,147,221), finally "Adolfo Suarez" of Madrid-Barajas (2,005,242 passengers).
