VIETNAM AIRLINES TO EXPAND ITS FLEET
HANOI, Vietnamese government has approved a Vietnam Airlines' plan to enlarge its fleet in the next five years. The $1,3 billion plan would increase the number of short-haul planes from 6 to 18 by 2005. The airline plans to bring its fleet to 34 planes by 2010. Vietnam Airlines currently operates 24 aircrafts, 10 Airbus A320s, five Boeing 767s, six short-haul ATR72s and two short-haul Fokkers.
