The management of the Brazilian aviation group Embraer has decided that in 2023 it will aim to strengthen the exports of its Defense and Security division (in 2022 revenues at -40% on 2021). In particular, the commercial structures of the C-390 Millennium heavy transport aircraft, exhibited in these hours at the "Aero India 2023" international exhibition, held in Bangalore, will be strengthened.
"The momentum of the C-390 across Europe, the Middle East and Asia is extremely positive". Even if the contacts are in the initial stage: "India is one of the countries where we see that our aircraft can play a role of excellence", said Bosco da Costa Junior, head of Embraer's Defense and Security division.
"Even the Super Tucano aircraft -he added- is experiencing a very positive moment in the market: the countries that are moving towards fifth generation fighters, whose flight hours are very expensive, look to our aircraft as a solution for simpler missions". "In this new position I hope to bring a lot of energy to materialize the internationalization of Embraer Defense".
Last year the Dutch government selected five C-390 aircraft to replace its current fleet of C-130 Hercules manufactured by US-based Lockheed Martin. Brazil, Portugal and Hungary also bet on the Brazilian aircraft. The goal of the South American industry is now to expand exports: for this reason it has presented the aircraft at various aeronautical shows in England, the United Arab Emirates and the Czech Republic, courting South Korea with a memorandum of understanding.
