Vinci Airports bets on Mexican airports

Acquired stake in the Centro Norte Aeroportuario Group (Oma)

The airport management company Vinci Airports, which operates in Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America, has acquired for USD 1.17 billion dollars a 29.99% stake (Fintech stake) in Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (Oma), which manages 13 airports in Mexico, thus becoming its largest shareholder. This is a move that solidifies the company's position as a private operator on the continent.

The operation follows the signing of a pre-agreement signed in July 2022. It is an investment that aims to take control of airports with a high growth rate. In fact, the volume of passenger traffic at the airports managed by the Oma Group since July has outperformed the levels prior to the pandemic: meanwhile, in the first 11 months of 2022 21 million passengers passed through (99% compared to 2019) and flights to and from 170 destinations.
