Putin to the Nation: mobilization of reservists is underway
"The aim of the West is to destroy us. We will use all the means at our disposal"
Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke in a televised speech addressed to the nation this morning. The head of the Kremlin declared a partial mobilization of military reserves throughout Russia. In addition, he announced the Russian accession referendum for the occupied territories of Ukraine, which could lead to the use of the tactical nuclear weapon to defend those possessions.
The West's goal is "to weaken, divide and destroy Russia. In its aggressive anti-Russian policy, the West has gone beyond all limits", so "we will use all means at our disposal" and that those who are trying to using nuclear blackmail against Russia will discover that the cards on the table can be turned against them. "I'm not bluffing" Putin said.
"It is our historical tradition and the destiny of our people -he added- to stop those who seek world domination, who threaten to dismember and enslave the motherland. This is what we are doing now, and I believe in your support".
Russian Defense Minister Serghei Shoigu explained that the partial mobilization in Russia involves 300,000 reservists, of which about 100,000 will be employed. These are men who have already served in the army, with combat experience and military specializations. They will be functional to "control the liberated territories" in Ukraine.
