Switzerland (2) reopens airspace

After a two-hour closure, traffic is back to normal

Switzerland has reopened its airspace after a two-hour closure. It was announced by air navigation service provider Skyguide, which said it had resolved the technical problem reported at dawn today that had led to the blocking of operations at Zurich and Geneva airports for safety reasons. Commercial connections over Swiss skies have been restored.

After it was announced at 6:30 am that the airport would be closed "for safety" due to "technical problems," at 8:30 am there was a partial reopening. The Geneva and Zurich airports had been paralyzed. Then the Geneva-Cointrin airport had announced on social media the gradual restoration of operations and that landings remained suspended until 11:00 this morning.
