Russia-Ukraine: cyber attack is a game
Ukrainian developers hire web users to attack Moscow websites
A group of computer programmers based in Lviv, Ukraine, has created an online game as a strategy to block websites linked to the Russian military. In order to achieve the goal they aim to gather hundreds of thousands of users who, while dabbling on the playforukraine.life website, every hour automatically send about 20,000 access requests to Moscow websites, blocking their operation.
The computer programmers explain how it works: "Even if you leave the Internet page open on your computer or smartphone, it will automatically continue to overload Russian sites. The game does not harm the browser, it just generates a constant flow of automatic traffic for attacks on targeted web pages, making them inaccessible". To date, about 180 thousand users from different countries in the world have already connected to the game.
