Hong Kong electronic bracelet for aircraft pilots
Tightened anti-pandemic surveillance rules for cargo crews
The Hong Kong Autonomous Administration has updated and tightened the Covid-19 infection control rules for airline personnel. These new measures include significant restrictions: pilots and other crewmembers of cargo airlines will have to wear electronic bracelets to allow local authorities to monitor their movements. The new rules came into force today.
This was revealed by the US economic news site "Bloomberg", which cited a document they had seen. The strengthened protocols target the last category of airline workers who until yesterday were not obliged to go through a period of quarantine. The bracelets will have to be worn at all times for the first three days as soon as crews return to the city. This is a drastic decision by which the Hong Kong authorities are attempting to limit the intense spread of the new wave of infection.
