Canadian city focuses on new helicopter
US 6 million dollars for a police aircraft

Canada's York Regional Police Services Board will get a new helicopter for criminal operations, drug trafficking suppression, missing persons search and other missions such as rescue. A contract with Airbus Helicopters worth 6.2 million dollars was signed for the purchase of the aircraft.
The new rotary-wing aircraft is due for delivery in 2022 and will replace the old aircraft that entered service in 2002. The sale was approved by the Newmarket District Council, which issued a call for tenders, and the contract was signed in the last few days. The helicopter will also be available for police services to other local forces that do not have their own aircraft.
