Disruption at London-Heathrow Airport on Boxing Day
Metro and railway connections closed for two days due to works
Anyone who wants to travel abroad by plane on Boxing Day will have to expect serious disruptions due to the suspension of rail and underground connections to London-Heathrow. The UK's busiest airport will be cut off the transport network for two days over the holiday period to carry out work on the network.
It is the first time that the airport it's in this situation due to the fact that the railway connections will be suspended on Boxing Day. As of Christmas Eve, the Piccadilly underground line will also be closed between Heathrow and Acton Town stations for seven days. Public transport across the UK usually closes on Christmas Day.
