USA SPACE SHIELD: CHINA REMAINS AGAINST THE PROJECT BUT ALLOWS TALKS

CHINA, China remains firmly against the American space shield project, proposed by United States President George W. Bush, but allows next week's talks with Washington's officers, led by State Vicesegretary James Kelly, in order to discuss it. Besides, Peking insists that USA should respect the Abm 1972 Treaty, which forbids the space shield's construction.
