ITA, agreement between Rome and Brussels is closer

Aircraft fleet and personnel are the two crucial points

The actual agreement does not exist yet, but a minimum of optimism is filtering out on the ITA (Italy air transport) carrier, which is still struggling to take off. The agreement with Brussels has not been reached and there is talk of a debut in the course of next July, in the meantime, however, according to some rumors, in the coming days everything could be concluded with precise numbers. The Newco would begin its adventure with 4,500-5,000 employees, while the fleet of aircraft should be characterized by a total of between 55 and 60 units. It is no coincidence that the Minister of the Economy, Daniele Franco, has become very unbalanced in recent days, despite his proverbial caution and confidentiality, referring to a "game that has already been resolved". Will it really be as the owner of the department of Via XX Settembre says? Franco would also have obtained from Brussels the assent to the industrial plan drawn up by the managing director Fabio Lazzerini. At this point, everyone expects ITA to take off with the right size, before talking about a negotiation resolved in a positive way, without forgetting the need for a good positioning of the company on the national market. Even the international one, however, must not be neglected in any way. After four years of extraordinary administration and an unspeakable series of difficulties, the time seems ripe for the longed-for departure of a carrier that has even gone so far as to cause concern for its future fate.
