Planes. UAE and Israel, yes to agreement on commercial aviation
The signing is scheduled at Tel Aviv airport
Yesterday, on Sunday October 18, 2020, Israel and the United Arab Emirates found the decisive agreement for an air transport agreement that will affect the two countries in the future after recent peace talks (read also the article published from AVIONEWS). The official signature should be affixed tomorrow, on Tuesday 20 October 2020, involving the Ministries of Transport of Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi. But what does the agreement specifically envisage? In a few weeks the first air connections between the two nations will depart, with a frequency of 28 weekly flights from the international airport "Ben Gurion" in Tel Aviv and arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The signs are scheduled at the Israeli airport: among the novelties, the unlimited charters and 10 weekly cargo flights should also be mentioned; Miri Regev, Israeli Minister of Transport, spoke of a "historic and exciting day", referring to the beginning of a new economic boom characterized by "fascinating and exciting markets". The announcement was made public a few days after the first time in which an Emirati aircraft flew over Israeli airspace, namely the Milan-Abu Dhabi flight of the carrier Etihad Airways.
