Coronavirus (2). Turkey and the UAE suspend flights with Iran
Emergency landing on suspected plane case, cancellation of connections
Today an aircraft with 132 passengers on board that took off from Tehran and headed for Istanbul made an emergency landing at the "Esenboga" airport in Ankara due to the presence of a suspected case of coronavirus infection. Doctors and paramedics intervened on the plane for checks. Two days ago Turkey decided to suspend ordinary flights with Iran, which however are still authorized to return Turkish citizens to their homeland.
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today cancelled all air links to and from Iran for "a week" after the latter announced three new deaths, recording a total of 15 ones. Bahrain, a Nation that includes more than 30 islands in the Persian Gulf, on the other hand, has instead interrupted Emirati flights to Dubai and Sharjah.
