Russia-India: delivery of the S-400 proceeds according to plan
No "acceleration" required by New Delhi
Russian President Vladimir Putin at a press conference after the Brics summit in Brasilia on November 13 and 14 between Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, said: "The supplies to India of Russian defense missile systems S-400 aircraft proceed 'according to plan' and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'has not asked to speed up".
Russia then plans to deliver the paraphernalia to India on schedule: New Delhi has initiated the agreements last year, despite US threats that the purchase could result in sanctions, but India said that it needs to increase its defenses against China. In September, the Asian Nation ordered a total of USD 14.5 billion in weapons and other military equipment in Moscow (see AVIONEWS).
Countries gather at the summit every year to discuss political and socio-economic coordination strategies, business opportunities. This year the comparison concerned cooperation in science, technology, innovation, the digital economy, the fight against crime and defense.
