"Ocean Shield": Russian Navy repels air strike during military exercises

The training continues successfully

The Russian Navy started the "Ocean Shield" training on August 1st in the Baltic Sea: these are large-scale military exercises performed under the command of the Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov and involve 58 planes by Navy and Aerospace Force, 49 warships and combat vehicles, 20 support units, and over 10,600 people.

Today on August 7th, the amphibious assault ships of the Baltic fleet successfully repelled the attacks of a fictitious enemy and landed the assault forces by land.

A demonstration of the Russian force that adds to yesterday's spectacular military maneuver that involved more than 100 aircraft among aeronautical airplanes and helicopters (see AVIONEWS). The exercises will last until August 9th.
