Leonardo: "green" helicopters with electric tail rotor

Solution that would save power and fuel

The Italian aerospace and defense company Leonardo could introduce an important innovation in the helicopter sector, that is an ecological tail rotor powered by electricity. Fabio Nannoni CTO (Chief Technical Officer) of the Helicopters division of Leonard declared it and he explained how "this could reduce the consumption and the environmental impact of a low-flying machine, making the aircraft sustainable"....
