First anti-tsunami exercise at Phuket

Phuket, Indonesia - Helicopters, blared sirens and loudspeakers have simulated a seaquake-emergency

Bangkok Government has organized a drill to test evacuation operations in case of seaquake, in order to prevent what happened the fatal December 26, 2004. The simulation has been performed today on Thai beach of Phuket, but other drills will be repeated at least two times a year henceforth. Helicopters circled above the beach while sirens of the new control tower set up on Patong Beach, warned tourists....
