US Airways to confirm talks with America West
New York, Usa - Even if there are no assurances that a deal would be reached
US Airways confirmed it was in talks with America West, even if the carrier underlined that a deal could not be reached. Some newspaper reported in the past days that the two carriers were in advanced talks for a possible merger (see AVIONEWS). Such a deal, if it is reached, would lift Us Airways out of Chapter 11, while America West may enjoy of a strong foothold in the East of the States.
