Delta Air Lines to post 2005 first quarter loss
New York, Usa - The carrier posted a USD 1.1 billion losses
US carrier Delta Air Lines said it posted a USD 1.1 billion losses in the first quarter 2005. The loss included USD 387 million charge for the cost of pension benefits related to the planned reduction of up to 7,000 non-pilot jobs and other factors. Without the charge the airline, which narrowly avoided to recur to Chapter 11 last year, would have posted a net loss of USD 684 million.
