Northwest Airlines to cut cost

New York, Usa - The carrier said it has raised its annual labor cost savings to USD 1.1bn from USD 950m

US carrier Northwest Airlines said it has raised its more ambitious annual labor cost savings to USD 1.1bn from a previous plan according to which the carrier had established to save USD 950m. Northwest reached its goal thanks to savings from pilots and salaried and management employees, that went into effect in December, allowing the airline to save USD 300m.
