Aircraft and transport. Swiss competition authority fines several airlines for creation of a price cartel
Bern, Switzerland - Immunity for Lufthansa, thanks to its self-denunciation
COMCO, the Swiss competition authority, fined several carriers for the creation, between 2000 and 2005, of a cartel aimed to ensure high prices in the cargo sector. The overall sanction which was given is equal to 11 million Swiss francs (almost 9 million Euros or 12.2 million dollars). COMCO's investigation revealed that the airlines had agreed on freight rates, fuel surcharges, war risk surcharges...
