United Airlines deep losses in January 2005

New York, Usa - The carrier reported USD 151m losses

United Airlines announced it reported heavy losses in January 2005 related to USD 151m. Ual, the parent company of United, said it needs to cut union labor costs by USD 725m. The carrier, which operates under bankrupt protection since December 2002, said that in spite of its general negative walk in last January, mainline passenger unit revenue rose three per cent from a year earlier.
