Russia to invest US$13.5 billion for a new space center

Moscow, Russia - In the eastern city of Vostochny

Russia is going to invest US$13.5 billion for the construction of a new space center in the eastern city of Vostochny, Roscosmos (the Russian space agency), stated today. The chosen area is in the Amur region. As announced last month, construction works for this new cosmodrome will begin in 2011 (see AVIONEWS).
