Hubble photographed Jupiter collision

Rome, Italy - The sharpest images taken so far of this extraordinary event

Hubble space telescope has managed to take some extremely sharp pictures of the wide "Scar" left on Jupiter's surface from the impact with an asteroid or comet on last July 19 (see AVIONEWS). The images, taken by the new Wide Field Camera 3 device, have been realized on July 23.
