Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - $540 million invested by the government to expand the international airport

Malaysia Airport Holding announced that by 2011 it will complete the construction of a new terminal for low-cost flights in Kuala Lumpur airport. The project, that will cost $540 million, came after AirAsia complaints about the limits that the present terminal imposes to the airline, being only able to allow the transit of 15 million people per year.
