Wellington, New Zealand - It is due for December 3rd the takeoff of the first B-747/400 fuelled by bio-fuel
It is due for December 3rd the awaited takeoff of a Boeing 747/400, belonging to Air New Zealand. That day one of the four Rolls-Royce RB-211 engines "Will use bio-fuel made from the jatropha plant". The technologies developed and the advanced phase of testing allowed to develop a bio-fuel that could be used for commercial flights, as alternative to the traditional fuel.
