Air Squadron General Vincenzo Camporini elected Italian Defense Chief of Staff

Rome, Italy - He will take over on February 12, 2008 from Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola, in charge since March 2004

Today, Air Squadron General Vincenzo Camporini has been elected by the Italian Council of Ministers as Defense Chief of Staff. General Camporini, who is currently Air Force Chief of Staff, will take over from Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola, at the apex of Defense since March 10, 2004 and recently elected president of NATO's military Committee. The turnover is scheduled for February 12, 2008.
