The US Marine Corps has deployed to Iraq the first combat squadron of Bell-Boeing MV-22 Osprey tilt-rotors, belonging to New River-based VMM-263 Squadron. Coming from the Norfolk naval base, the ten tilt-rotors have been transferred to Iraq on board "USS Wasp" amphibious assault ship.
