Berne, Switzerland - The downsizing process of the armed forces started for the purpose of cutting cost and modernizing the national defence

Switzerland started a significant downsizing process for its armed forces by selling or donating (in this case to museums) dozens weapon systems of various types. Swiss Government would intend to accelerate the modernization of its defensive system as soon as possible, through the purchase of new armaments, a purchase that has to occur anyway in parallel with the retirement from service of weapons...
