UNITED OPERATES THE LONGEST NON-STOP FLIGHT
USA, United Airlines started yesterday to operate the world's longest non-stop scheduled passenger flight, linking New York and Hong Kong via a polar route. Flight 821 last just under 16 hours, covering 13,580 kilometres with a Boeing 747-400 aircraft, which takes some 216,000 litres of fuel per trip, with a crew of four pilots and 18 cabin crew members.
