US GOVERNMENT THREATENS MERGER BETWEEN BA AND KLM
LONDON, The U.S. government said it may block British Airways' pending merger with dutch Klm because it believes the merger to be an attempt of British to circumnavigate treaties to increase its access to american airports. The new was reported by Financial Times. Leo Van Wijk, president of Klm, said his company will file a proposal for a full merger by the first week in August.
