USA to deploy the first missiles of the new shield by the end of 2005

Washington, USA - Pentagon intends to face in this way any kind of nuclear threat which can be designed by the next 20 years

Despite remarkable criticism against the investment devoted to the related programme, the new US "missile shield" should be ready by the end of this year (and not starting from next September as it was thought some months ago, see for details AVIONEWS). Actually, the first 20 missiles will be redeployed in Alaska by the end of 2005, but the programme will have, according to Pentagon, to be completed...
