Four airline incidents in 48 hours: this is what happened on board four flights operated by the US company Delta Air Lines. The events occurred last week, and were detailed by the local media. Episodes that fuel the debate on aviation safety, which has been a topic that has heated American public opinion for months, after a series of alarming events involving manufacturers and airlines.

It was reported by the local American newspaper "San Francisco Chronicle". The first case concerns flight DL475 (Boston-San Francisco) operated on Thursday 20 June 2024 with the A-321/200N aircraft forced to make an emergency landing at the departure airport due to engine failure during take-off. Shortly afterwards an A-320 (flight DL1245) departing from West Palm Beach suffered a fire in the left engine and returned to the airport from which it had taken off.

The next day, Friday 21 June, the right engine of a B-757/200 (flight DL916) taking off from Atlanta shut down at altitude due to loss of oil pressure and was diverted to Salt Lake City. In the same hours, a B-767/300ER (flight DL92) taking off from New York had a brake problem during landing in Berlin, where they activated the safety machine for the emergency operation.
