Hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on private flights and a few tens of millions of dollars on benefits of all kinds. They were received by David Calhoun, CEO of the US Boeing Group, specialized in the defense and aerospace sector, which ended up at the center of a journalistic investigation. The outgoing manager, who will be out of the company by the end of 2024, also received approximately 33 million dollars in bonuses and stock options in 2023 alone.

It emerges from an investigation by the American newspaper "Wall Street Journal". According to journalists, the CEO received a benefit for free travel on private planes in the Group's fleet worth 500,000 dollars. These trips, made between 2021 and 2022 during the pandemic, when the airlines were not operating, were reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the authority that supervises the US stock exchange.

In fact, accounting rules require that trips operated with private company aircraft be accounted for in the Group's financial statements. However, Boeing did not do so, because many of these connections were operated to private homes or vacation spots. Only recently did the Group say Calhoun was allowed to use corporate jets for security reasons.
