Bologna Airport: stop at the "Marconi Express"
Service suspended from April 12th for maintenance work
Yet another stop for the "Marconi Express", the 5 km monorail that connects the Bologna-Centrale railway station with the "Guglielmo Marconi" airport in Panigale. This time the service will be suspended for 10 days due to maintenance work on the infrastructure, which is scheduled from Friday 12 to Monday 22 April 2024. The service will be guaranteed by replacement buses, with two trips at night.
In the morning, passengers departing or arriving at the airport will be able to use road vehicles from 5.40 am to midnight, with the following starting points: on the ground floor at the arrivals exit at the airport; in via Terracini near the Bologna-Lazzaretto railway station; in via Carracci at the Bologna central station. The night service is ensured by the "Marconi Express 940" via two trips: from the airport to the central station (1.15 am and 4.30 am) and the same number from the station to the airport (at 0.42 am and 4:00am).
The People Mover will be suspended "as foreseen by the maintenance program aimed at guaranteeing the quality of the service", said the "Marconi Express" company. The works include the following: restoration of the resin on the rail and execution of other minor works, combined to reduce the inconvenience for passengers and interfere as little as possible with the traffic of the "Marconi" airport during the holidays and the main fairs.
