France: other disruptions to air travel
Reduction of air connections from 20 to 33% in various airports
The French Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile (DGAC) has asked air carriers to cancel 33% of flights scheduled for Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 March and 20% those on Monday at Paris-Orly airport. Because of this decision, the inconvenience to air traffic triggered by the national strike against the pension reform plan wanted by the Macron government.
Once again paralyzed the second most important airport of the capital, which constitutes an airport hub of the Franco-German aviation group Air France-KLM. Inconvenience is also expected at the airports of Lyon-Saint-Exupéry and Marseille-Provence, where DGAC has requested the cancellation of 20% of flights, especially on Monday. The French trade unions have in fact involved the air traffic controllers in the mobilization, who will abstain from work to participate in the protests underway in France against the increase in the retirement age from 62 to 64.
