USA: B-787 Dreamliner aircraft back to the skies

FAA approves restart of airplane deliveries after safety concerns

Deliveries of the B-787 Dreamliner to customers resume this week. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) gave the green light to the US aviation group Boeing, after the aircraft manufacturer positively addressed the recent concerns raised by the agency regarding the safety of some components of the airplane.

"FAA will determine when ticketing and deliveries of the B-787 will resume. We are working with our customers on delivery times", the US manufacturer announced in recent days. Last weekend, the Federal Aviation Administration then added: "The agency may resume issuing airworthiness certificates next week".

The aviation regulatory agency had halted deliveries of the B-787 aircraft on February 23, 2023. This was due to a data analysis error relating to the aircraft's forward pressurized bulkhead made by the US manufacturer and found by FAA technicians after reviewed certification records. Now, Boeing has completed the safety analyzes necessary to meet the agency's standards.
