"Avalon 2023" kicks off in Australia (February 28-March 5)
The fair showcases novelties from the aerospace and defense sectors
The international aeronautical show "Avalon 2023" (February 28-March 5) kicks off today in Australia. The "Australian International Airshow & Aerospace and Defense Exposition" event is held in the city of Geelong in the presence of exhibitors and managers. An important showcase also for Italian exports in the aeronautical and space sectors, which in Australia are worth around 5.9 billion euros.
"After the difficult years of the pandemic emergency, the qualified presence of Italy at such an important event testifies to the renewed attention for the Australian market. It is a prestigious showcase to enhance our excellence and explore new business opportunities in a framework of progressive strengthening of bilateral cooperation also in the security sector", declared the Italian ambassador in Canberra, Paolo Crudele.
More than 40 Nations, 234 industrial, governmental, scientific and defense delegations, and 798 exhibiting companies will be present at the event, which will occupy an area of 320,000 square meters with their stands. 59 conferences on topics related to aviation, aerospace, space and defense are scheduled. On display are flight assembly technologies, helicopters, satellites, space launchers, boats, military vehicles, mechanical components and innovative systems.
Italy is present with a stand coordinated by the Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies (ICE), by the Italian embassy, by the defense and by the Federation of Italian companies for aerospace, defense and security (Aiad). Various Italian industries will exhibit here: Astra, Davi, Elettronica and Jobs, while the Leonardo Group and Piaggio Aerospace will both have two independent exhibition spaces.
