Planes-ships. Departure of new charter flights boarding in Genoa and Savona
The first flight from Amsterdam tomorrow morning

Thanks to the collaboration with Genoa Airport, Costa inaugurates the season of inbound and outbound charter flights dedicated to Dutch and German customers, organized with the two airlines Corendon and Condor. These new charter flights will bring approximately 16,500 passengers to transit at the “Cristoforo Colombo”.
Tomorrow, on Friday 25 April at 11:35, the first Corendon flight for the Amsterdam–Genoa connection is expected at the Ligurian airport. This new flight organized by a Dutch tour operator is dedicated to customers who will embark on the Costa Smeralda, the flagship of the Italian company, docked every Friday at the port of Genoa as part of its 7-day itinerary in the Western Mediterranean. The flight, operated by the Corendon company, owner of the tour operator, will be active every Friday from 25 April to 27 June and from 5 September to 24 October. The Corendon flight schedule for boarding the Costa Smeralda arriving and departing at and at the airport of Genoa includes a total of 18 rotations, with an estimate of approximately 7600 passengers.
Sunday 4 May will be the turn of the first of the new weekly charter flights, operated by Condor, which will connect Düsseldorf with Genoa, allowing German guests to reach Savona via transfer from where they will embark on the Costa Toscana for a cruise to discover Italy, France and Spain. The Condor charter flight program to and from Düsseldorf will continue until 19 October 2025 for a total of 25 return flights and approximately 9,000 transported guests. Passengers on the Condor Düsseldorf–Genoa charter flight will be able to take advantage of the “inbound” and “off-airport check-in” services, thanks to which it will be possible, on departure, to hand over luggage at the embarkation airport to find it directly in the cabin on the ship and, on the occasion of the return, to hand it over on board the ship to collect it at the arrival airport.
"On behalf of the entire Genoa airport, I would like to thank Costa Crociere for this renewed collaboration", said Enrico Musso, president of Genoa Airport. "The proximity to the cruise ports of our region -he continued- makes our airport the natural point of departure and arrival for this tourist segment that is so important for our territory. A market that we trust we can serve increasingly thanks also to the new best in class services that we will be able to offer once the important investments underway and planned have been completed".
"We look forward to welcoming the first guests of these new charter flights dedicated to cruise passengers on Friday 25 April", added Francesco D'Amico, General Manager of Genoa Airport. "The imminent departure of the connections with Amsterdam and Düsseldorf -he continued- demonstrates the centrality of Genoa City Airport for tourists wishing to spend a cruise holiday in the Mediterranean. As an airport, we will be ready to best welcome this type of traveller who will contribute to the growth of volumes at our airport".
Genova City Airport has 24 routes operated by eight airlines that connect Genoa to 22 destinations in 12 European countries (Bari, Brindisi, Cagliari, Catania, Lamezia Terme, Naples, Olbia, Palermo and Rome-Fiumicino, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bucharest, Budapest, Brussels-Charleroi, Copenhagen, Krakow, London-Stansted, Manchester, Munich, Paris-Orly, Warsaw and Tirana). Investments of around 100 million Euros are currently underway –by or for the benefit of the airport– which by 2026 will lead to the airport being entirely renovated, offering travellers “best in class” services and new ways of connecting to the city centre, in particular for the benefit of tourist flows towards Genoa and Liguria.
