HAWAIIAN AIRLINES INTRODUCES FIRST NEW BOEING 717-200

HONOLULU, The new 717 today begins scheduled service between Honolulu and Kahului, Maui. It will be joined by at least 12 more brand-new Boeing 717-200 aircraft by year's end, phasing out the McDonnell Douglas DC-9 model that has been the standard of interisland air travel for 30 years.
