POLISH GOVERNMENT APPROVES ARMED FORCES MODERNIZATION
WARSAW, The polish government yesterday approved a $26,3 billion six-year financing program to modernize armed forces in order to turn them closer to Nato standards. The bill, which has to be cleared by Parliament, will ensure annual funds for defense of 1,95% of the country's GDP. The personnel will be cut by 25% to 150.000 by 2006.
